Black and white portrait of an older man with glasses, short hair, and a beard, smiling, in an indoor setting.

Where I was .. and am now

I have been creating pieces of art and furniture all my life.

From small hand held pieces to large many component functional pieces that took months to create. All have one thing in common, a unique story captured elegantly.

I have also had a long career in mechanical design working in industries such as automotive, energy, sensors and interconnections. Even in those very utilitarian endeavours that this career entailed, they brought about solutions that were achieved with a sense of elegance. This elegance was portrayed in its seeming simplicity of form and function while underpinning a myriad of requirements.

In these works it is the emotion that is the main focus and the practical being the necessary but somewhat secondary requirement.

I try to reflect my love of my Celtic heritage in the sculptures and functional art.

I see as my influences in my youth being Jim Fitzpatrick, George Bain and ancient Celtic works such as the Book of Kells.

In furniture and sculpture there is Joseph Walsh, Nick Pedulla and John Lee
